Situation

The Château is situated in Saint Théodorit, a village in the Gard department (région Languedoc-Roussillon), between the mountainous Cevennes and the national parc Le Camargue. Skiing, golf, birdwatchin, hiking and sailing within an hour’s reach. 

The Château is only is only 20 miles away from the capital city of Nîmes, with its splendidly restored city centre and Roman arena. Slightly farther; beautiful ancient cities like Avignon, Arles and Montpellier. The area cherishes its Roman heritage, with the ‘Pont de Gard’ as the most imposing monument. 

Closer to the Château there are the picturesque villages such as Uzès(with its world-famous Saturday market), Anduze, Sauve, Sommières and Quissac.

The Mediterranean Sea is only 45 minutes away, with seaside resorts such as Sète, Le Grau du Roi, La Grande Motte, Les-Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Sun, clear blue water and safe beaches. On top of that, a daily supply of fresh fish!   

The Gard department has not yet been spoiled by mass tourism and stays relatively quiet. However, it has TGV-stations in Nîmes, Avignon and Montpellier TGV-connections and airports in Nîmes, Montpellier and Marseille.

The nearest golf-links is at Ribaute and Uzès. Near Nîmes one finds two 18 holes links  (www.golfnimescampagne.fr.st) and http://www.golf-nimes.com ). Whereas in the surroundings of Montpellier the golf facilities are uncountable.
